Sputnik Urchin Candles

Made in-house by Simply Shells and crafted from a blend of mostly soy wax and small amounts of certified palm wax, premium grade paraffin wax and a unique plant based emulsifier to provide a stable and consistent burn, its intricately molded design evokes the celestial wonder of the Sputnik sea urchin.

The shell candle weighs approx 80grams and the Performance Wax will give you many hours of burn time. Remember to do a one off memory burn. Light the candle in a draft free area and burn for about 20 minutes, then put the candle out and let the wax set again. You’re wanting about a 20mm circle around the wick. Thats it, now you’re ready to light any time.

A High Quality Stabilo wick ensures a chemical free burn and even melt while giving off beautiful lighting in your desired area.

Concrete Base is not included and is an optional extra.

Performance wax – Made up primarily of natural soy bean and blended with smaller portions sustainably sourced, certified palm wax, premium grade paraffin wax and a unique plant based emulsifier.

Stabilo Wicks – Lead and zinc free. Resistant to oxidation, providing enhanced burning properties.

The candle is fragrant free, focusing on the stunning visuals the candle creates when burning, casting shadows that capture the Sputniks outer shape.

 

The Creative Process

We took the fabulous Sputnik urchin and created our own molds testing different wax types, wicks and molding materials, the process took many months to perfect.

The final result is a clean and long burning product with amazing detail in each candle. Made by and exclusive to Simply Shells, you wont find them anywhere else and each candle is hand poured and quality checked before sending out.

As an optional extra we’ve also created our own concrete bases, made specifically to match the candle size and catch any spills. These match the candles beautifully and can be used again and again.

Important: This is a molded and free standing candle and must be used with a suitable fireproof base that is capable of managing any wax melting. Please ensure candle is placed in a suitable and safe location with ample ventilation. Never leave your candle unattended while burning or alight while sleeping. Do not lift candle while burning or touch the hot melted wax.

Do not eat or swallow wax.

Dont burn for longer than 3 hours at a time.
